Elder Updates • 8.31.26

As God leads us on a journey, we have the benefit of resting at checkpoints to praise Him for what He has brought us through and seek Him for navigation toward the destination to which we are called. When these journeys stretch over extended periods of time, our flesh may be weakened by our will to forge ahead alone. Thankfully, we are reminded in the truth of His word to wait for the Lord to instruct us and guide our path (Psalm 25:4-5).

As we approach an important checkpoint, we are grateful that the pastor search process has been blessed by a congregation praying for the Lord to direct our hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ (2 Thessalonians 3:5). Each time we gather together in worship, we have the risen King Jesus with His Spirit interceding for us. What hope that we can do all things through His strength! We are encouraged to continue walking with our brothers and sisters in Christ as we seek to give all glory and honor to our Almighty God.

The Pastoral Search Ministry Team has provided the following update on the status of the search process:

  • The Pastoral Search Ministry Team has faithfully served under the charter and direction of the Elder Board throughout the search process.

  • The team prayerfully reviewed approximately 100 applications, listened to multiple sermons, and completed 1st and 2nd rounds of candidate interviews.

  • Throughout the process, the team sought to set aside personal agendas, preferences, biases, and timing while trusting God to lead each step.

  • The team has completed its candidate review and will now pass its recommended candidates to the Elder Board for consideration.

  • The Elder Board will prayerfully interview and consider the candidates as it seeks God’s direction regarding who will be called to serve as FAC’s next Senior Pastor. The final decision rests with the Elder Board, and we trust God to lead them.

  • Please continue to pray for the Elder Board, the candidates and their families, our church family, and God’s continued guidance throughout this process.

  • We also invite you to review the Pastor Profile, which was developed to help guide the search for our next Senior Pastor.

  • Thank you for continuing to pray, fast, and walk alongside us as we trust God to lead Fellowship Alliance Chapel. As John 15:5 reminds us, apart from Him, we can do nothing.
